The MicroPen Evo provides advanced, electronic, medical skin-needling. Skin needling is a skin rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of 14 very fine, medical-grade needles which are passed across the skin creating micro-channels.
This controlled ‘injury’ initiates the natural healing process of the skin which in turn results in the production of new collagen and elastin and the regeneration and repair of damaged tissue, visibly improving skin texture and tone.
The formation of microchannels with skin needling also results in improved absorption and enhanced penetration of active cosmeceutical products both immediately after the procedure and in the weeks following.

It acts regulating melanin production and removing the melanin present in epidermal cells, responsible for visible pigmentation. Photoaging Solution - Minimises the signs of ageing as these active substances help fight against photo-damage, add additional antioxidants, and help repair moisture and firmness to the skin. Mesopeptide Solution - This solution contains potent peptides and can be used to promote thickening of the dermis and results in firmer, tighter skin. Active ingredients: Hyaluronic acid, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-9, Palmitolyl tripeptide-5.
Mesotox solution acts dually on expression lines, reducing the existing ones and preventing the appearance of new ones. After the skin is cleansed a numbing cream is applied. The numbing will be left on for 30 minutes, then thoroughly removed.
After the skin is prepped the MicroPen Evo is glided across the skin while sterile needles are creating microchannels into the dermis.
Often some pressure over the skin may be felt with tiny tickling sensations. The procedure is generally not painful although many clients have different pain thresholds for skin needling.
There may be pinpoint bleeding during the treatment depending on the depth of the needling, but no bleeding once the treatment has finished.

Initially, the skin will appear red with minor inflammation. This redness can subside 12-24 hours post-treatment but may last up to four days. The sensation feels like a mild sunburn and the skin will feel tight and dry for a few days post-treatment.
It is important to follow your aftercare instructions and not to pick at any dry skin as this can increase the risk of complications such as scarring and infection. Protecting your skin from the sun and avoiding any active home care products (such as vitamin A) until advised is important as the skin is healing after the procedure.

The number of treatments depends on the indication, however, skin needling is best delivered over a series of 3-6 treatments for general skin rejuvenation. More sessions may be required for more sun-damaged and scarred skin.
The treatments are performed at 4-6 weekly intervals to allow for collagen synthesis which takes up to 6 weeks. Following a full course of treatment, it can take up to 6 months for results to become visible due to the production and synthesis of new collagen and elastin. Maintenance skin needling treatments can then be performed.
